The Colorado gold rush of 1859 was stimulated by a barrage
of print articles that appeared in Newspaper in the East.
The earliest reports, often exaggerated, appeared in papers
such as the Westport Border Star published in Westport,
Missouri.
The only reported example of a
circular rate usage from Kansas Territory
